What is a bell tent and how is it different from a standard camping tent?
A bell tent (also known as a yurt-style tent) is a spacious, round canvas tent with high ceilings and central support, offering more headroom, better airflow, and a more stylish, durable design than standard dome or pop-up tents. Ours are fully weatherproof and NZ-ready. The design of a bell tent is a real eye-catcher. You’ll never be scanning a field of tents wondering which one of the 50 identical tents is yours. In fact, you could charge an entrance fee for tours of your show-stopping bell tent!
Is the bell tent waterproof and fire-retardant?
Yes. Our bell tents are made from heavy-duty, waterproof canvas and are fire-retardant and designed to handle New Zealand’s ever-changing weather, including rain, wind, and harsh UV.
How many people can sleep in the bell tent?
You know when you buy a 3-person tent and that’s literally all it fits. Three people. No bags. Nothing else. Just three, very friendly people. Well, our bell tents aren’t like that. The 3m bell tent fits up to 4 people PLUS their gear comfortably. The 6m bell tent fits up to 8 people, or can be styled with a queen bed, couches, and lounge space for a festival or glamping setup.
How long does it take to set up the bell tent?
The 3m tent takes about 15–20 minutes with one person. The 6m tent is best set up with two people and takes around 30–40 minutes. All you need to set up is a hammer. Pegs are provided
Can I use power or lighting inside the tent?
Absolutely. Each tent includes a discreet power lead hole (so you can bring the coffee machine) and internal hanging loops, perfect for fairy lights, lanterns, sound gear or charging gear!
Is the bell tent available in New Zealand?
Yes! All our bell tents are in stock in NZ and ship directly from our warehouse—no overseas shipping or delays. Unless EVERYONE orders at once and we run out! Just get in touch if we happen to be out of stock and we can either hire you one, or order one for you at no extra cost (just a little more time to wait).
Does the bell tent come with a built-in floor?
Yes. The bell tent includes an integrated waterproof floor to keep your setup sealed, dry, and comfortable. There’s no separate groundsheet needed.
Can I stand up inside the bell tent?
Yes. Both the 3m and 6m bell tents are designed with full standing height in the centre, giving you room to stretch, style, and move around easily
